Hollyoaks star and co-owner of The Symposium venue in Wilmslow, Ashely Taylor Dawson is combining forces with Grammy shortlisted music producer, Mike McGuinness, better known by the stage name, Lempo – the pair have been collaborating on various projects for a number of years and for this latest venture into dance music they’ve decided to launch a party that brings their wealth of experience in club culture to the local community.

Our insatiable taste for nostalgia means we can’t resist the chance to ‘throw some shapes’ to the anthems of our wonder years. And that is exactly the vibe you can expect at The Symposium on Friday 29th November, when you’ll have the chance to see producer-turned-TV personality Brandon Block perform alongside the original Artful Dodger, Mark Hill - with Manchester’s Lempo completing the line-up.

Mike said: “The artists we are going to work with for these parties deliver credibility, party atmosphere and a unique sense of nostalgia. For the first event at The Symposium, we are pulling out all the stops to have non other than Mark Hill and Brandon Block join us on Black Friday.”

Mark Hill is a Welsh musician, songwriter and record producer. He rose to fame as one half of the Garage pioneering duo, Artful Dodger - with cult classic hit singles “Re-Wind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)" and “Moovin’ Too Fast” in 1999, both reaching number 2 in the UK chart. Mark was also co-writer and producer of Craig David's multi-platinum album, Born to Do It. Mark holds no less than four Ivor Novello Awards, a number one album, two number one singles and over 10 million records sales worldwide.

Brandon Block will need no introduction for those who survived clubland in the '90s, notorious for his well documented antics and energetic ’to say the least’ performances, this world renowned record spinner, famed for his now legendary stints as Space Ibiza’s resident DJ and radio presenter on Kiss FM, not to mention his frequent appearances on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix show. In 1999 under his Blockster alias, Brandon released the hit single “You Should Be” on Ministry of Sound, which sampled "You Should Be Dancing" by the Bee Gees, reaching number 3 in the UK chart. In recent times Brandon is better known as a TV personality, having featured on Celebrity Big brother, Celebrity Come Dine With Me and on MTV Dance alongside Alex P. If ever there was a DJ that epitomizes the Hedonism of Ibiza and club culture, few come closer than Blocko.

Lempo, a Grammy-shortlisted DJ, producer and writer. His music career began in 2006 with residencies at Manchester’s now legendary Sankeys and Venus nightclubs. His success has seen him perform for global club brands including Ministry of Sound, Cream and The Warehouse Project. As a producer Lempo has remixed artists such as Snoop Dogg, General Levy and Dawn Penn, as well as releasing original music with prestigious New York labels, Strictly Rhythm and Todd Terry’s InHouse Records. Lempo also founded the Applique Music record label in 2011 and presents his own show ‘Twisted Melon’ syndicated on Café Mambo Radio and Data Transmission.

Doors open at 9pm on Friday 29th November, through to 3am. There is limited capacity for this event and the 200 available tickets are expected to sell out in advance, priced at £10 each. Call the booking line now to avoid disappointment: 07921853127.
