Little Mix on fame: 'It's a massive responsibility and when you're young it's easy to make mistakes'

'Salute' beauties Little Mix have given their opinion on the recent video that surfaced showing One Direction members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking marijuana and confessed that when you're famous, it seems as though the whole world is watching and hoping you slip up.

Speaking to Wales Online about the drugs scandal video, member Jesy Nelson explained that 'young people make mistakes' and it's tough knowing you have a massive responsibility as a celebrity to be a decent role model, but hopefully when bad things happen people learn from that situation:

"We don’t really call ourselves role models to be honest. If people look up to us that’s a massive compliment; we are just being ourselves. It’s a massive responsibility and when you are young you make mistakes. But when you do make mistakes you learn from them."

'Story Of My Life' superstar Liam Payne, meanwhile, also spoke out about his bandmates' bad judgement and told Directioners: "I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that. We are only in our 20's we all do stupid things at this age.”

"We all have a lot of growing up to do in an extreme circumstance I'm not making excuse but it's fact we are gunna [sic] fall short somewhere. Hopefully we stand the test of time an [sic] get it right in the end I don't take this for granted and im [sic] extremely grateful to be here doing this.”
