Little Mix's Perrie on Zayn's 1D split: 'I was upset at first'

Songstress Perrie Edwards has opened up about her fiancé Zayn Malik's decision to quit One Direction and confessed that his choice initially upset her.

During a new interview with We Love Pop magazine, Edwards confessed that she was prepared for just how life-changing Malik's decision would be and they have both accepted it well, but it took a little getting used to:

"Yes, it's great. If he's happy, I'm happy. I was upset at first because it was such a huge decision he made, and he has to live with that for the rest of his life. We knew it was going to be massive and everyone would be talking about it, so I prepared myself for that."

The blonde bombshell went onto add that living life in the spotlight is tough, but she has developed a thick skin and just tries to ignore the sensationalised headlines that appear every now and again:

"It's really hard being in the public eye all the time, but if you know the truth about your relationship then you have to let it go. I'm not wearing my ring today and I'm already thinking about the headlines! But I'm so over it now, I don't even care."
