Watch Little Mix respond to accusations they copied GRL song

Little Mix have swatted away suggestions their new single 'Shout Out To My Ex' copied a GRL track.

The US girl group took to Twitter recently to suggest that the Brits' single was very similar to their own 2013 effort 'Upset Heart'.

Little Mix were faced with the allegations while appearing on a Belgian radio show recently.

Jade Thirlwall said: "We're actually friends with Emmalyn from GRL and she loves the song.

"Every song is going to have a similar chord sequence, slightly similar lyrics and melodies – it happens all the time. It doesn't mean that they're not both incredible songs."

The radio host then played both songs, with Thirlwall adding:

"I think maybe because it was a girl band as well, I just think people like to have something negative to say."

Leigh-Anne Pinnock said she felt GRL's song was more country than theirs.
