Lorde feels alone at school: 'Girls are weird'

Songstress Lorde has opened up about fitting in at school and confessed that she struggles to find common ground with her classmates.

During a new interview with British magazine Look, the 'Royals' beauty explained that she often feels ostracised by and unable to connect with her peers:

"I feel like I'm alone a lot. Partly because I'm in high school and there are people being quite cliquey. Girls are particularly weird. I love to observe how they process the high school situation. Over the last couple of months I've just started to realise that, wow, people in the real world don't care if your legs aren't perfect."

Lorde also joked about her refusal to give a collective name to her fan base, adding that she won't be following in the footsteps of other pop stars who use one term to define their followers:

"F**k no! That's the worst! I find it grating to lump everyone into a really awkward, pun-centric name. People joke about it on Twitter: 'You should call us 'The Disciples'.' Never! I have discouraged it. I've tweeted multiple times: 'No fan names. I do not condone this."
