Lorde has revealed that she is set to tour the UK later this year.

The New Zealand born singer-songwriter won the International Female Solo Artist gong at last night's (February 19) BRIT Awards and she told reporters backstage that she is a big fan of the country.

When asked if she will return soon to the UK to perform, the 'Royals' star said:

"I love coming here in general, so it would probably be a good idea to book some shows here. But I should be back this year."

Lorde meanwhile paid tribute to the strength of the female music population whilst collecting her BRIT Award, saying:

"I’m still so new to getting awards like this, my brain still feels like it’s exploding every time it happens.

"Thanks to the strong inspiring women in this category, it’s great to have competition this healthy."
