17-year-old 'Royals' songstress Lorde has revealed that she is a little obsessed with the photo sharing and social networking app, Instagram. 

The rising star, who currently has over 1 million followers on Instagram, confessed that she can't stop checking the site for new content or likes and looks at it at least once per hour: "I'm kind of cruising Instagram every hour or so, it's the one I check back to when I'm bored."

On April 3, Lorde took to her official Twitter page and joked: "The smarter the person, the more boring the Instagram account."

Earlier this week, she hit back at the press for airbrushing photographs of her in live settings to give the illusion that she has perfect skin and tweeted: "I find this curious - two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)."
