Lorde starts work on new music: 'I've written a lot of amazing stuff'

New Zealand based hitmaker Lorde has revealed that she has begun work on her next album.

Speaking to MTV News at the Golden Globes last night (January 11), the 'Team' songstress explained that while there's no rush for her to release new music, she has started writing some songs:

"For me I have to kind of write a project lyrically before I attack it musically. So I’ve written a lot of amazing stuff and I’m just tentatively starting to make it music.”

Lorde missed out on winning the Best Original Song prize at last night's ceremony as she was up for her 'Hunger Games' offering, 'Yellow Flicker Beat'. John Legend's 'Glory' took the prize for the film, 'Selma'.

Back in November, Lorde told Rolling Stone magazine that she's not hurrying the project along because she doesn't enjoy working under that kind of pressure: "I don't really have any sort of timetable. I'm not in any kind of rush. Part of me thinks that the longer I leave it, the better a musician I'll be."
