Lorde on touching people with her music: 'It's so important'

'Royals' hitmaker Lorde has opened up about the mass appeal her music and lyrics have in a new impromptu Q&A session with her social media fans.

She answered a series of questions on her Tumblr page and one follower wanted to know what she thought she would be doing when she was older. Lorde replied that being a famous singer and songwriter wasn't really her initial vision:

"That I would be at uni studying law lol... This reminds me, i actually found an old scrapbook from when i was maybe 7 or 8 that said “future job” and I had written COMEDIAN??????????? Which is so mental, I'm not even funny... ha wtf. Who did I think I was, bloody Amy Schumer or some s**t???????"

The 'Team' star was then asked if she ever thinks about how accessible her music is and how she's able to reach so many people on a personal level with the tracks she writes and added:

"I think about it pretty much every day, and honestly there is nothing more important to me in my life - the fact that people like the s**t I make, and it changes them and makes them feel, it’s the best thing ever, and also the scariest haha, like having a very beautiful, very delicate flower in your hands at all times."
