Louis Tomlinson soars to No. 2 on Emerging Artists chart

Louis Tomlinson has shot up in Billboard's Emerging Artists chart from No. 24 to No. 2 (dated Dec. 23), following the release of his fourth solo single, "Miss You".

According to Nielsen Music, his new track entered Digital Song Sales at No. 15, drew a whopping 1.8 million streams and sold 19,000 downloads in its opening week alone.

Billboard's Emerging Artists chart measures activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50.

The former One Direction star also chatted with BBC Radio 2 recently about his new single, "Miss You," missing his bandmates and putting out a debut solo album which his fans will be proud of. He said:

“I’ve written a lot of songs and I need to give 110 per cent to who I want to be as an artist and get that right before I venture into anything else.

“I’m happy with the sound of the record and the production, it’s exciting for me to have more guitar and live elements. Conceptually it’s about being in that routine, going over the same day over and over again, some days it’s fun and some days it’s not so fun.”

Louis Tomlinson‘s highly anticipated debut solo album is set to be released next year.
