Louis Tomlinson: 'Football's coming home!'

Louis Tomlinson tweeted his excitement as England beat Columbia today (July 3) resulting in the team making it through to the World Cup quarter finals.

Doncaster Rover reserve player, Tomlinson tweeted: "That was horrible to watch but fucking hell footballs coming home!"

"Come on England! Great game from @HarryMaguire93 . Unbelievable in the air".

England won their first ever World Cup penalty shootout after both teams scored 1-1, and will now play Sweden in the quarter finals this Saturday (July 7).

Tomlinson regularly plays in Soccer Aid, as well as games to support the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and also the MAESTRIO Charity Match.

In 2013, the singer was signed as a footballer by his local team Doncaster Rovers of the Football League Championship on a non-contract basis.

The last time England won the World Cup was back in 1966, so Brits' spirits are high that this could finally be the year "Football's coming home".
