Louis Tomlinson takes home Choice Male Artist at 2018 Teen Choice Awards

Fans of Louis Tomlinson celebrated all over the world last night (August 12), after the english singer-songwriter was awarded Choice Male Artist at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards.

The former One Direction star was clearly the favorite among the category of nominees as fans went wild when he stepped onto the stage to collect his coveted surfboard.

Tomlinson was up against a tough category, which included his ex-One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan, as well as fellow music artists Bruno Mars, Drake, Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes.

Accepting the award, Tomlinson said: "Guys, I just wanna say... my fans are the best fans in the world. They're the most important people in this whole project.

"I cannot thank you enough. You're the reason I do what I do. This one's for you. Thank you."

The Teen Choice Awards are the summer's hottest event and the summer’s only awards show in which teens hold the voting power to select new categories and returning favorites from past Teen Choice shows.

The event took place at the Forum in Los Angeles, California, and was hosted by Nick Cannon and Lele Pons.

For two decades now, the two-hour live event has honored iconic stars from the best films, most-loved TV shows, fiercest music and the top moments in fashion, digital and comedy.
