Louis Tomlinson relieved Six Chair Challenge is over

Louis Tomlinson has finally made it through the hard task of selecting his top six acts in this year's X Factor category.

To get there, he had to choose his final six via the Six Chair Challenge yesterday (October 6). After the intense round of the show, he tweeted: "Losing Nathan was difficult I liked him! Cool sound".

The 26-year-old gave his Golden X safe seat to Brendan Murray, the 21-year-old Irish boy.

Next, we will see the singer-songwriter with his Boys category in Spain during the Judges' Houses round, which will also double-up as a mini-One Direction reunion, with Liam Payne and Tomlinson back together again selecting the next round of hopefuls.

The six boys currently through with a chance are: Brendan Murray, Thomas Pound, J-Sol, Dalton Andre Harris, Anthony Russell and Armstrong Martins

Speaking about his selection, Tomlinson tweeted: "Can’t wait for you to see my judges houses. Really proud of everyone for their performances!"

Pound tweeted his admiration for the One Direction star after the show: "Couldn’t ask for a better mentor- what an incredible down to earth lad with a heart the size of the ocean! @Louis_Tomlinson I owe you and will prove to you why I deserve to be in this competition❌❤️❌ #xfactor #thexfactor #heisamazing"

The airing of the Judges' Houses episodes will take place next weekend in the UK on October 13 and 14.
