Louis Tomlinson's upcoming solo single release is imminent

Louis Tomlinson is back in the recording studio working on his solo material.

Taking to Twitter yesterday (February 11), the 27-year-old tweeted:

"Back in vocals today. It’s coming"

A week ago (February 7), Tomlinson uploaded a photo of himself playing a piano onto Instagram.

Ten days ago (February 2), he tweeted:

"Just heard the master of the single. So excited for you all to hear it!". He also uploaded a photo onto Instagram of himself in front of a vocal mike in a recording studio (see profile photo) with the caption: "It's coming..."

Tomlinson has been working on his solo material on and off for several months. His previous releases have all had chart success. For example, Back to You ft. Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals has already surpassed 300M views.

The single also received gold certification in January 2018 in the UK, and platinum status last June in the US - meaning the track has sold over 1 million copies in the US alone.

He has also changed management and marketing companies, and has been recording his new album.

Tomlinson uploaded a video message last July in which he said:

"The album is still definitely my priority. It doesn't change any release time or anything like that, me doing the show [X Factor]."
