Caius Pawson will receive the Entrepreneur Award at The Troxy on November 24th. 
Artist managers are by definition entrepreneurs and success requires a manager that has endless drive, outstanding creativity, gut instinct and a fearless nature.
Caius Pawson instigated the Young Turks collective in 2005 throwing parties and attempting compilations and zines. The parties prospered and morphed into club nights and raves - often illegal. The music involved was always cross genre knowing no boundaries. In the same way the live events have proliferated across the world as the bedrock of artist development.
After meeting Richard Russell at a rave Caius launched Young Turks Recordings (The xx, SBTRKT, FKA twigs, Sampha, John Talabot, Jamie xx etc) under the XL umbrella also becoming A+R director at the mother label.
Young Turks Management started in 2007 with The xx and now also includes Jamie xx, Sampha, Arca and Amnesia Scanner. The publishing company was established in 2011 -hardly the last piece in the jigsaw. Who knows where the entrepreneurship will go next? Caius has worked with an amazing amount of artists, across many genres in multiple ways.

Years and Years

Artist and FAC Board member Lucy Pullin said ” We have narrowed down some amazing artists to an eclectic list who have emerged across different genres and with contrasting routes to market over the past year. We will unveil the deserved winner on the night”

The winner will be announced on the night.
The Artist and Manager Awards will take place at the Troxy on Thursday 24th November 2016 and will again be supported by DICE.
