No good deed has ever gone unpunished. Especially those that affect the masses in life changing ways. The rise of the Stock Market Academy - now the second largest stock group on Clubhouse with over 76K members according to clubhouse stats - is no exception to this rule. The club and it’s hosts are frequently visited by skeptics and naysayers, but it hasn’t faired well for the hecklers.

On Tuesday, October 5, during one of the Academy’s night classes a disgruntled financial advisor, clearly misinformed about the purpose of the room joins the stage. He immediately begins to heckle the founder D’ron Forbes in an attempt to prove that Clubhouse is simply not the space to learn about Finance. Apparently like many others before him he didn’t take note of the club’s name. He was in for a rude awakening.

Teaching individual investors how to navigate the capital markets is exactly what the Stock Market Academy is all about. The club hosts rooms on everything from Value Investing to GARP Investing and Fundamental Analysis. The latter being a topic our grump visitor had no idea was covered. After over 30 minutes of back and forth with the speakers, the guest made the mistake of suggesting the Academy didn’t look at financial statements in their nightly Stock Talks. The students of the Academy took it from there, making sure he knew that the financial statements were a staple at the academy. Embarrassed at the mistake he had made in assuming Stock Market Academy was just another stock ticker driven room on clubhouse, the wounded financial advisor tucked tail and exited stage left.

Today Forbes addressed the issue via Twitter. Reiterating his stance that the Stock Marker Academy is a much needed resource for individual investors around the world.

I guess there is a bit of a balance there but it would be nice to see more unity. No good deed may go unpunished but no heckler leaves the Stock Market Academy unscathed either. Forbes wants to challenge the school of thought and prove that the wealthy gap is not so hard to do away with. All that’s needed is time and dedication. A look at the Stock Market Academy calendar shows that they have Stock Talk scheduled and ready to go for the night. The topics of discussion being “jobless claims, earnings and growth investors hurt”.
