Maroon 5's Adam Levine: 'You have to learn to adapt and be open'

Singer Adam Levine, of Maroon 5 fame, has opened up about writing hit singles in a new interview with Ryan Seacrest.

During the phoner, the star explained that he has become more and more open to working with different people, which has paid off:

“I opened myself up to a lot of different new things that I think beforehand I hadn’t been really open to. The thing is, when you’re a songwriter and you want to do this for a very, very long time, you have to learn how to adapt, I guess, and be open to different types of collaborations.”

He also spoke about Maroon 5's newly announced tour, adding: "We find ourselves in this position where we just continue to have this amazing success. Having our songs on the radio has been the fuel in the tank for the band to perform live. We’ve always considered ourselves to be a live band. I think that’s the cornerstone of who we are.”

Seacrest went onto ask Levine about the rumoured romance between his 'The Voice' co-judges Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, but he didn't comment on it and instead praised them as supportive friends:

"They’re my friends. Gwen and I have really bonded lately. She’s just the coolest, most wonderful person ever and people don’t really realize that they are humans and they have problems just like everybody else. I love my friends and I support my friends through everything. I’ve been actually really enjoying getting to know Gwen better in the past two months.”
