Matt Cardle reveals debut album's release details

2010's X Factor winner, Matt Cardle, has revealed that his debut album will be released at the end of this summer.

The 'When We Collide' singer and musician spoke to BBC's Newsbeat about his career's progress and admitted that fans can expect to hear recorded material very soon:

"The album is due at the end of the summer, it's going really well, it's the kind of tracks I wanted to be writing. For me to get my head together and get in the studio and get my inspiration back on track and start writing the album has been great."

28-year-old Cardle also opened up about his rock-based influences, explaining that he wanted to incorporate his own passions into the collection of songs:

"My inspiration is everything I've ever listened to; Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Dave Matthews band. There's some anthemic stuff in there, there's some very upbeat stuff, there's some stripped back soulful stuff in there. It's real."
