Lemar and Joss Stone are set to release a new single together, “Someday We’ll Be Together”, on May 13th via BMG.

The song was previously recorded by Diana Ross & the Supremes in 1969, and features on Lemar’s album ‘The Letter’, which is out now. The single sees the acclaimed Soul/R&B singers duet together on this updated version.

As Lemar explains:

“When approaching it as a duet I wanted it to have a natural feel and so tried to think of someone I knew, who had that soulful element but could also deliver it effortlessly. I called up Joss who is a good mate and much to my delight, she said: yeah let’s jump into the studio and see what happens. The result is this duet. I'm really pleased with it and I hope when people hear it they are too. Joss has an amazing voice and it was a real pleasure recording with her again.”

Of the duet, Joss says: “I loved singing Someday with Lemar, it’s such a fantastic song and we had a blast in studio.  I hope people like what we’ve done as it’s such a classic soul record.”

Lemar and Joss Stone recorded ‘Someday We’ll Be Together’ in Stone’s own studio in Devon and though this is the first single they have released together, it isn’t the first time they have collaborated on a record before. In 2003, Lemar’s number 3 record ‘The Truth About Love’ included the album track ‘Anniversary’, featuring Joss Stone. 

Multi-platinum selling, double Brit Award winning Lemar has scored several top 10 singles as well as 2 top 10 albums to date. His latest album ‘The Letter’ was met with widespread critical claim, with The Independent hailing it as “a superlative collection of soul classics” and The Sun dubbing him “a real master of the genre”.
