Michael Bublé's 'Christmas' becomes second best-selling album of 2011

Michael Bublé's 'Christmas' has become the second biggest selling album of 2011, next to Adele's '21' (the biggest selling album of the 21st century so far with over 3.7 million sales since its release in January 2010).

'Christmas' was released just two months ago, and has become one of four albums to pass the milion sales barrier this year, selling more than 1,272,000 copies.

Bublé's festive album has sold more than Adele’s 2008 album ‘19’ (which has sold over 1,203,000 copies in 2011). Bruno Mars claims the fourth spot with 'Doo-wops & Hooligans' which sold 1,170,000 copies.

Bublé remained at the top of the UK albums chart yesterday (December 25), making 'Christmas' this year's Christmas Number 1 album

Bublé issued the following statement on hearing the news: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be Christmas number one. The UK is one of my favourite places to visit and it's a real honour to have my record in so many fans' homes this Christmas. Merry Christmas, everyone!"

Singer Michael Bublé revently revealed that he almost ended up in hospital last Christmas (December 2010) after injuring himself while testing out new stilts from Luisana Lopilato, his wife.

The model gave the man who has everything an unusual present of special jumping stilts, but the gift nearly caused him serious injury.

The singer told People magazine: "She got me stilts you can bounce on, and I almost killed myself!"
