Complex - "They balance self-awareness and rap cockiness"

The Line of Best Fit - “With acts like Tebi Rex entering the scene, it's safe to say nothing is slowing this movement down.”

Tebi Rex return to announce brand new four-track EP Project Sitcom alongside fresh new live dates across the UK and Ireland.

Inspired by 90’s TV and all of the shows they grew up with, Tebi Rex has crafted an EP from a place of love, laughter and crippling self-awareness. Sitcom is a lighthearted approach to the rollercoaster of modern day life.

Following the releases of IMTHEBEST and People Pleaser (Music Video directed by Dublin-based Olivia McLaughlin CMAT, Saint Sister, Alice Merton). We witness first-hand as lads explore themes of hyperinflated egos and escapism in only a way someone who’s lived it knows, revelling in the joy and comedy of what it means to be a musician in your twenty-somethings.

Tebi Rex Share - "We don't know if this is the best thing we've ever made. Whoever is kind enough to listen gets to make that call. It's definitely the funniest though. We laughed the whole time while making it. We hope you can do the same while listening"

The duo effortlessly blends various genres, including dance, post-punk, indie, pop-rap, and hip-hop. With a Streets-style twist on the lead track Main Character. The accompanying video makes reference to the inflated ego and caricatures the lads are playing up to, with throwbacks to how they first met, battling it out at a talent show… Max still seems a little bitter about how white privilege prevailed that day... “I’m the main character ain’t no carrot top.”
Tebi Rex delves into the human condition, seeking out and craving attention, the desperate sides of our natural behaviours. The EP serves as a humbling experience for those who suffer from main character syndrome, with its streamlined pop/hip-hop production and simple yet cynical narratives.
