Today, industry-leading music brand, NME, have launched The Cover, a new take on their historic flagship property that underlines their total commitment to the coverage of vital new artists. The Cover is a bold new step that sees the brand championing a phenomenal new band or artist every Monday, doubling down on their mission to connect audiences with the most exciting emerging talent from around the world.

The inaugural star is multi-genre pioneer, d4vd - signed to Darkroom/Interscope Records (Billie Eilish). d4vd is the ideal new artist to spearhead the next phase of NME. He embodies the spirit of a new generation of musicians who defy boundaries not only in terms of where and how they create music, but also when it comes to genre. His breakout hits, which have garnered billions of streams and achieved global chart success, were all crafted in his bedroom using the social music creation platform BandLab. d4vd's ability to transcend traditional limitations is a testament to his innovation and artistic vision.

Speaking on the launch of The Cover, NME's Commissioning Editor (Music) Tom Smith says, "The NME cover is, naturally, iconic, but it's only as powerful and memorable as the cast of characters that feature on it. The emerging music scenes around the world are where their stories begin and where their cutting-edge innovation flourishes. The industry would be nothing without these fearless creatives.

“I'm thrilled that more rising artists will get the opportunity to land on The Cover each and every week to meet our global audience, as we continue to elevate our best-in-class editorial prospect and continue NME's commitment to grassroots musicians.”

The Cover is a fearless undertaking from NME, a fresh approach to a legacy property that finds them committing to their new music roots, whilst opening up a new space exclusively for breakthrough artists, providing them with vital visibility and support in a challenging landscape.

Holly Bishop, Chief Operating & Commercial Officer of NME Networks says, “We are thrilled to unveil a new era for NME's flagship editorial property. The Cover is the perfect reflection of NME's continued commitment to new artist discovery, as every Monday we introduce the hottest emerging artists and bands to our global audience of millions of music fans. For over 70 years NME has been the ultimate destination for new music. Doubling down on breaking new talent is perfectly in keeping with our unique heritage, and most importantly with our future, as we cement our position of strength by connecting incredible new talent with fans across the world every single week.”

Meng Ru Kuok, Chief Executive Officer of Caldecott Music Group says, “d4vd's musical journey is a testament to the next generation of creativity. It's more important than ever for platforms like NME to support the creators who need it the most - the emerging talent who are shaping the future of music and the industry as we know it.
