Nathan Sykes insists making Ariana Grande duet wasn't awkward

Nathan Sykes says his recent duet with ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande wasn't awkward.

The singer recently teamed up with his former flame for a surprise remake of his track 'Over And Over Again'.

The two singers were in a relationship for a number of months before their split was revealed in early 2014.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Sykes said the only people making the collaboration awkward were the media.

He said: "I think it's only as awkward as everyone else makes it.

"I think it's a very easy storyline for everyone in the media world. I think as soon as everyone found out we were doing this, it was like, 'Headlines for days! Thank you so much, Nathan and Ariana, that is so kind of you!'."

The Brit added: "I spoke to [Ariana] and I was like, 'It's only as awkward as everyone else makes it.

"If we don't make it awkward, then at the end of the day, after a couple of weeks, it's not going to be awkward anymore."
