Pol-ka is the most important production company in Argentina. In its more than 20 years of uninterrupted hard work in both the television and the film industries, Pol-ka has managed to mark trends with a new style in the products that it creates and produces. The quality of its shows and its human and technical assets have turned the company into a huge source of contents for very big channels and chains all over Latin America, the US and Europe. A good example of this is the miniseries called Epitafios (produced for HBO and nominated to the International Emmy Awards) and El jardín de bronce. Plus, the adaptation of the American award-winning TV show Desperate Housewives for Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and the Hispanic viewers in the USA. Other examples include: the telenovela Valentino, el argentino, in a co-production with RCN (Colombia); the miniseries Vientos de agua, in a co-production with Telecinco (Spain); the format sale of the renowned series Mujeres Asesinas to ABC, and also to Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador and Italy, where new adaptations were created and shown; and the TV shows for younger viewers Violetta and Soy Luna, both created by Disney Channel Latin America, which have proved to be a great success all over our country and also abroad. Furthermore, in 2015 the company built an alliance with Turner for the joint development of contents, as in the case of Signos, La fragilidad de los cuerpos, El Maestro, and now El Lobista.
Every year, the shows produced by Pol-ka are greatly acknowledged and they often receive domestic awards, such as Martín Fierro and Premios Tato.
Pol-ka also has a vast and prolific experience in the production of movies; among which we can mention El hijo de la novia, which was played in theaters all around the globe as it got a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
