Netflix Announces Cast and Start of Production of the First Thai Original Series ‘The Stranded’

Netflix Inc., the world’s leading internet entertainment service, in collaboration with GMM Grammy and H2L Media group, announced the cast for the first time for their first Netflix original series from Thailand, The Stranded at the blessing ceremony at GMM Grammy building.

The series stars Thailand’s Sinjai Plengpanich, Sarunyoo and Hattaya Wongkrachang, together with Winai Kraibutr, Beam-Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote, Pat-Chayanit Chansangavej, March-Chutavuth Pattarakampol, Jack-Kittisak Patomburana, Oab-Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang and more.

Directed by Jim-Sophon Sakdaphisit, with Ekachai Uekrongtham, Gary Levinsohn, Christian Durso, Steven Sims and Billy Hines as executive producers, the project is created under international collaboration between the teams across the world, including Los Angeles, Singapore and Bangkok. The production began on 14 January 2019.

The Stranded tells a story of an 18-year-old boy, Kraam, who survives a devastating tsunami along with thirty-six of his fellow students at an elite private high school on a remote island in the Andaman Sea. As mysterious events start happening on the island, it quickly becomes clear that no one is coming to rescue them and Kraam must lead the students to rescue themselves.
