Netflix today announced, The Chair, a new six episode half hour dramedy centered around the Chair of an English department at a major university.

Amanda Peet Bio
Amanda Peet was most recently seen in “The Romanoffs” and “Brockmire.” Before that, she starred in “Togetherness,” created by the Duplass Brothers, and Aaron Sorkin’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” She appeared in the films “Something’s Gotta Give,” “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Syriana,” “Please Give” and “Igby Goes Down,” among others. Her play “The Commons of Pensacola,” which was produced by Manhattan Theatre Club, starred Blythe Danner and Sarah Jessica Parker. Her most recent play, “Our Very Own Carlin McCullough,” debuted in 2018 at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. She currently wrapped production on season 2 of USA network’s anthology series “Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story” and will soon start production on HBO’s “The Gilded Age.”

Sandra Oh Bio
Oh currently stars in and is a Co-Executive Producer of BBC America’s critically acclaimed smash hit “Killing Eve” for which she won a historic Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series and received Emmy Award nominations for Lead Actress in a Drama Series (2018 and 2019) and a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Leading Actress. Additionally, she co-hosted the 2019 Golden Globe Awards alongside Andy Samberg.

Sandra won a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on the hit ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy,” as well as received multiple Emmy Award nominations. Previously, Sandra starred in the enormously successful Fox Searchlight feature film “Sideways”, for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

On stage, Sandra starred in “Death and the Maiden” at the Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago and completed a sold-out run of the World Premiere of “Satellites” at New York’s Public Theater for playwright Diana Son. She won her first Genie Award (Canada’s Oscar) for her leading role in “Double Happiness”, a bittersweet coming-of-age story about a young Chinese-Canadian woman – a performance that brought her much acclaim and secured her place as one of Canada’s rising young film stars. She also performed the “Vagina Monologues” in New York.

Sandra was previously seen in the British production of “Thorne: Scaredy Cat”. Her additional feature film credits include “Meditation Park”, “Tammy”, “Defendor”, “Blindness”, “The Night Listener”, “For Your Consideration”, “Three Needles”, “Long Life Happiness and Prosperity”, “Under the Tuscan Sun”, “Sorry Haters”, “Ramona and Beezus”, “Rick”, “Bean”, “Guinevere”, “The Red Violin”, “Waking the Dead”, “The Princess Diaries”, “Pay or Play”, and Michael Radford’s improvised “Dancing at the Blue Iguana”. Her performance in “Last Night”, a Canadian film about the end of the world and won her a second Genie Award for Best Actress in 1999. Most recently, she starred in “Catfight” opposite Anne Heche, and the animated feature "Window Horses,” which she produced.

Jay Duplass Bio
Jay Duplass began acting in 2012, when Jill Soloway cast him as series regular Josh Pfefferman in her Amazon TV series "Transparent." The show won a Golden Globe for best comedy series and multiple Emmys, and Jay was nominated for a Critics' Choice Award in 2016 for best supporting actor. Jay has starred in feature films including Lynn Shelton's “Outside In” opposite Edie Falco, “Pink Wall” with Tatiana Maslany, Gillian Robespierre's “Landline” and Miguel Arteta's “Beatriz At Dinner”. Jay was also a recurring character in "The Mindy Project" and "Search Party"
