Netflix announces production and cast of new Japanese series Burn the House Down

Netflix announces production of upcoming Japanese series Burn the House Down, starring Mei Nagano and Kyoka Suzuki, set for release in 2023.

The series is based on an original comic of the same name by up-and-coming Moyashi Fujisawa, which began serialization in Kiss magazine (Kodansha) in 2017. An immediate hithit, there has been multiple offers to bring the story on screen.

The protagonist of this story, Anzu Murata, infiltrates the house of the Mitarai family as a housekeeper in order to reclaim the house and family that was taken from her. Anzu Murata will be played by award-winning Mei Nagano.. Makiko Mitarai, Mr. Mitarai's second wife, who invites Anzu into her home, will be played by top talent Kyoka SuzukiThis will be the first Netflix production for both of them.

The suspense series Burn the House Down is set for release in 2023.

About Burn the House Down: The home of the wealthy Mitarai family, which has run a hospital for generations, was burned to the ground in an unfortunate fire. Thirteen years later, housekeeper Anzu Murata heads to the home of her new client, the Mitarais. There, she is greeted by the beautiful and impeccable second wife of Mrs. Mitarai, Makiko. Anzu is hired and begins working at the house, but she has a certain purpose for infiltrating the Mitarai home...
