Published: April 24, 2025 -- Netflix rolled out the red carpet glass cage for the farewell season of the serial killer drama YOU. To welcome back the famous — or should we say infamous? — Joe Goldberg to New York for the show’s final episodes, we built an immersive Mooney’s pop-up in New York City to give fans the perfect place to bid adieu to this bone-chilling classic. This out-of-the-box send-off was a fitting finale for the beloved series, which has attracted 500M+ global views since YOU moved from Lifetime to Netflix in late 2018. Since the start of the Netflix Top 10 in 2021, YOU has made the Global Top 10 list 31 times and reached the Top 10 in all countries we track. On social, Seasons 2-4 have amassed over 1B impressions each. Ahead of Thursday’s premiere, Season 5 has already garnered over 800M impressions globally. Running April 22 and April 23, the Mooney’s activation included a one-of-a-kind hunt — something Joe is all too familiar with — that brought iconic YOU moments to life through the show’s most memorable books. In each tome, fans had to find a highlighted word and a handwritten note in the margin served as a clue about what book you need to track down next. Each highlighted word combined to spell out a cryptic hint to the end of the series. The final book also revealed the hidden entrance to Mooney’s basement, where fans could step inside Joe’s iconic (or horrific, depending on your take) cage for an epic photo that will be sure to get some 👀 on social. Even Joe Goldberg himself couldn’t resist the trip down memory lane as star Penn Badgley and several other cast members made a surprise appearance at Mooney’s on opening day to visit his old haunt and meet a few of the show’s, ahem, die-hard fans. If snagging a photo with the elusive “Joe” wasn’t enough, a few lucky visitors who completed the hunt on Day 1 grabbed invites to one of two advanced Season 5 screenings. The screenings took place the following evening, April 23, at the Paris Theatre with the first one followed by a Q&A with the show’s cast. Those outside of Manhattan also had a chance to get in on the action. Black Pearl Books in Austin, TX; Books & Books in Miami; Booksmith in San Francisco; and The Ripped Bodice’s Los Angeles and Brooklyn locations also hosted in-store scavenger hunts with prizes including free YOU merch and access to Tudum’s virtual fan screening, where they could join thousands of Joe’s followers from around the world and watch the Q&A. The immersive Mooney’s pop-up is just the latest experience to bring YOU fans together. In Season 4, we celebrated across the pond with a bloody tea cup ride in central London. For Season 2’s move to Los Angeles, we hosted a city-wide scavenger hunt in partnership with Overheard LA. And after Season 1’s Netflix debut, Badgley and co-star Shay Mitchell met fans in the cage in the Philippines. Want more of YOU? Tudum has complete series coverage including everything you need to know for Season 5, a guide to all this season’s new faces, set secrets to all the show’s biggest Easter eggs, a special thank you from Badgley for the fans and a comprehensive (and obsessive) YOU by the numbers that breaks down every “Hello,” every blue hat and every unsuspecting victim (#RIP). As you binge the new season, check out Tudum’s special “Inside the Episode” videos and in-depth series finale deep dive to get fresh insight from the series’ cast and creative team, plus new details from the final days of production. Here’s to the last breath. All five seasons of YOU are now streaming.
