New Hope Club speak to Pressparty on the eve of their two London shows

On the eve of their two London Shepherd's Bush Empire shows, New Hope Club's George Smith spoke to Pressparty about how 2018 is going for the band so far.

You've been on tour with The Vamps for a little while now; how's it been? Any highlights?

It’s great fun being on tour with The Vamps boys, we get on so well with them. We play football with them a lot (and normally beat them). We have also just come off a European tour with them where we got to see loads of places we had never been before. One of the highlights has to be Brad coming on stage and playing drums for us during ‘Tiger Feet’ in Barcelona.

You guys recently released 'Start Over Again' which we love! When can we expect new music from you?

Well it was great to finally get ‘Start Over Again’ we have been waiting a while to release it and we had so much fun filming the music video. However our song Medicine is coming out very soon; we have actually just seen the first cut of the music video which we filmed on stage in Birmingham on tour with The Vamps. We are very excited for fans to see this!

You're gearing up to play two headline shows Shepherd's Bush Empire...how are you feeling about them?

We are very excited about our upcoming shows at the Shepherds Bush Empire. They're our first big headline shows, and we can't wait to be playing our new songs. We have screens for these shows, and we hope people walk away feeling happy and that they have had a great time.

If you could play any venue in the world, which would it be and why?

If we could play any venue in the world I think it would have to be Wembley Stadium in London; so many big artists have played there and it would be amazing to be able to follow in their footsteps and take to the stage there.

If you could collaborate with anyone on a song, who would it be and why?

We would love to collaborate with lots of different artists. Obviously to write a song with Ed Sheeran would be awesome; he is such a good writer and we feel that we would learn a lot from that session. John Mayer would be another cool artist to collaborate with, he could bring out a really cool guitar solo.

New Hope Club are set to headline London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on both 1st and 2nd of June as part of their 'The Road to the Empire Tour'.
