Emerging artist Douglas A. Benson, known for his unique fusion of classic and contemporary influences, announces the debut release of his latest single, 'On The Run', taking from his upcoming EP ‘Joys of Growth’. Inspired by legendary artists like David Bowie, Elton John, and Northern Soul classics, Benson creates a genre-bending sound that resonates with the search for one's soul.

'On The Run' is a standout track that encapsulates Benson's distinctive style—sentimental yet energetic, with a blend of pop, rock, and groovy tones. "On The Run symbolises the first step of breaking away from the dependence one has on others, and the first step towards achieving inner peace and self-sufficiency," explains Benson. The song's heartfelt lyrics and powerful melody offer listeners an introspective journey paired with an irresistible beat.

The track's journey began in 2020, during the pandemic, when Benson wrote the initial version while living at a friend's house. After letting the song rest for a few years, Benson moved to Sweden in 2022, where he produced the full EP before moving to London. The EP ‘Joys of Growth’ is a 4-track concept body of work that with each track adding further context to its overarching story, ‘On The Run’ acts as the second chapter in the tale.

Benson's music draws from a wide array of influences, including concept albums about Moon-based hotels, spoken word poetry, and Psychedelic Rock. His ability to blend these diverse elements into a cohesive and innovative sound sets him apart in the modern music landscape. Douglas A. Benson's passion for music and dedication to his craft shines through in 'On The Run'. This new release not only showcases his talent but also his ability to connect deeply with listeners through relatable themes and compelling compositions.
