Acclaimed singer-songwriter Caleb Darger unveils his latest album ‘Fault Line’, the 12-track offering is a poignant showcase of his masterful blend of folk, indie, and Americana influences. Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, Darger has made a name for himself as a skilled storyteller whose music resonates with authenticity and emotional depth.

‘Fault Line’ is an introspective journey through some of the most pivotal moments in Darger's life. Drawing on influences ranging from classic cowboy singers like Don Williams and Conway Twitty to 60s crooners like Roy Orbison and 70s folk icons like Jim Croce and Cat Stevens, the album is a testament to Darger’s ability to weave diverse musical styles into a cohesive narrative. The album explores themes of losing religion, navigating the complexities of relationships, and reflecting on the past, while also addressing social and environmental issues like the pollution of water on native lands and the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol.

The focus track, ‘Alexandra,’ is a heartfelt ode to Darger’s younger sister. Recorded in his home studio and mixed by Brecken Jones in Salt Lake City, the song reflects Darger’s personal connection to his family and the bittersweet emotions of being away from loved ones during important milestones. Originally envisioned as a country song with pedal steel guitar, ‘Alexandra’ evolved into a more intricate piece with groovy and melodic guitar solos, a rich bassline, and harmonica accents, creating a warm, inviting sound that perfectly complements its heartfelt lyrics.

Speaking on the album Darger states "This album is partly a collection of songs that I have been sitting on for years that didn’t have a home while I was in graduate school or working on other musical projects. The songs were born out of some important transitional moments in my life, like getting married, moving from Utah to Washington, DC, and leaving a high-demand religion (Mormonism)."

Caleb Darger is no stranger to the music scene. By the age of 19, he had already embarked on two West Coast tours and was selling out shows in his hometown as the lead singer of the folk-rock group The Mighty Sequoyah. His journey took him away from music for a time, as he spent five transformative years in Washington, DC, balancing work commitments and pursuing a graduate degree. Now back in Utah, Darger has returned to his first love—music—with a renewed sense of purpose.
