Niall Horan excited on reaching over 1 billion Spotify streams

Niall Horan has voiced his excitement on reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The 'Slow Hands' singer tweeted yesterday (June 16): "Proud day today ! I’m delighted with 1 billion streams on @Spotify . With how different my music is to the types of music that are heavily streamed these days , this is a big day for me . Thank you all for being so amazing to me and I’m glad you are enjoying my album."

His debut solo album, 'Flicker' has been certified Gold in the UK, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Sweden and Platinum in Canada. It's reached No. 1 in the U.S, Ireland, South Korea, Holland and Canada.

The Irishman has worked hard for this achievement having been on his Flicker global tour since March with the tour wrapping up on September 23. The tour ended its Asian leg in Japan on June 15 and will recommence in South America on July 4.

He has also been promoting the album and its singles resulting in at least four trips to Australia in the past year, he told The Project (see below).
