Nick Jonas on Rita Ora dating rumours: 'It was blown way out of proportion and we just hung out'

Heartthrob Nick Jonas has stressed that he was never romantically involved with songstress Rita Ora and the reference to her in the Jonas Brothers song 'What Do I Mean To You' was blown way out of proportion.

Back in 2013, Jonas told the press that he name-checked the person the track was about: "I was inspired by being in London. It's really dark. That's what I love about this song. We used to be more creative than we needed to be with our lyrics to disguise the things we were really talking about and the people we were talking about. Now. it's more fun to just lay it out. The person's name who it's about is in the second verse of the song."

The song itself boasts the line, "No need for water, Rita/ You got the wine/ Searching for diamonds/ When I gave you the time", and he has now revealed to Britain's The Sun that he never actually dated Ora and people took the lyric far too seriously:

"The song was never released. That was for a good reason. It was blown out of proportion. We never dated. She's said that, I've said that. We hung out some over the summer. It's not as significant a thing in my romantic journey as some people would make it out to be."
