Nick Jonas: 'I'm honoured to play a gay character on TV'

Heartthrob Nick Jonas performed live at the Pittsburgh Pride Parade in Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 13 and while on stage revealed that he is "honoured" to play a gay character on 'Kingdom'.

The 'Jealous' sensation was a last-minute replacement on the bill for rapper Iggy Azalea, who pulled out after a number of complaints were made against her, and he told the crowd in Pittsburgh that he was proud to be singing for them:

"My character is gay, and I am honoured to play this role. I love you and I thank you. I know I jumped up here last minute but you guys are the best fans."

Speaking to HuffPost last week, the sensation explained that while he relates to the character he plays in 'Kingdom', MMA fighter Nate, he doesn't have a lot in common with the character he will portray on 'Scream Queens':

“I am similar to Nate in a sense in that I prefer to use my words carefully. In 'Scream Queens', I’m a bit more outspoken, and a touch on the sort of prick side. That’s the fun of being an actor, you can be a jerk sometimes!”
