Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defends Nickelback

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has backed Nickelback.

The group, who hail from Alberta, are regularly mocked by music fans across the globe.

Trudeau appeared on The Daily Show recently, with Hasan Minhaj taking aim at the rock band.

He jokinly suggested that the threat of ISIS fighters getting into the US through Canadian borders is "the greatest Canadian terrorist threat since September 11, 2001 - the day Nickelback unleashed their breakthrough album 'Silverside Up' on America."

The Prime Minister replied: "You know what? Nickelback's alright."

The band meanwhile will tour the UK in October, with a number of arena dates planned.
