Khalid and Normani win Teen Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song for "Love Lies"

Khalid and Normani won the coveted Teen Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song award for "Love Lies" at the Teen Choice Awards last night (August 12).

The two music stars were up against a tough category, which went as follows:

Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song
"All The Stars" - Kendrick Lamar & SZA
"Finesse (Remix)" - Bruno Mars (feat. Cardi B)
"God's Plan" - Drake
"Let You Down" - NF
"Love Lies" - Khalid & Normani -- WINNER
"This Is America" - Childish Gambino

The pair's collaborative track has been going from strength to strength since its release, reaching RIAA Gold Certification on April 4 this year, and is now on its way to reaching Platinum Certification, which means that it would have sold more than one million units.

Additionally, Khalid took home the Choice Breakout Artist.

Normani was also a presenter at the ceremony, where she introduced a performance by Khalid, saying: "This is one of my best friends and he's about to shut the place down..."

The Teen Choice Awards are the summer's hottest event and the summer’s only awards show in which teens hold the voting power to select new categories and returning favorites from past Teen Choice shows.

The event took place at the Forum in Los AngelesCalifornia, and was hosted by Nick Cannon and Lele Pons.

For two decades now, the two-hour live event has honored iconic stars from the best films, most-loved TV shows, fiercest music and the top moments in fashion, digital and comedy.
