SAM CALLAHAN AND PANDORA CHRISTIE TO TAKE PART IN PDSA 'BIG DOGGY PADDLE' FUNDRAISER

Today, Sam Callahan and Pandora Christie will be taking part in the PDSA Big Doggy Paddle at The Dockland Scout Project at Canary Wharf.

Pandora will be jumping into the River Thames to be rescued by a 13-stone Newfoundland dog, while Sam will remain on the docks, assisting with the dogs and cheering on Pandora and the other partakers. Pandora has spent the last few days collecting donations to PDSA through a JustGiving page across her social media channels. She is highly thankful to all who contributed to her goal.

Throughout the day participants will be given wetsuits and life jackets provided by the Newfound Friends organisation, will jump into The Thames and be dragged to dry land by the PDSA’s Newfoundlands for a certificate and photo with their fury lifeguard.

PDSA, one of the largest pet charities in the UK, hopes that the event will raise £50,000, which would equip 3 PDSA Pet Hospitals with new x-ray machines. PDSA has 51 Pet Hospitals throughout the country, helping more than 470,000 pets annually.

Pandora and Sam are both incredibly excited to take part in this important fundraiser, to raise money for PDSA, to learn more about the crucial role that PDSA plays in saving the lives of the nation’s pets and to meet their four-legged rescuers.
