Fashion and body confidence expert Gok Wan bags Number 1 on the Official Classical Compilations Chart
He's a fashion expert, an award-winning TV presenter and author who's all about the confidence - and now Gok Wan can add chart-topping albums act to his ever-growing list of accolades.

Gok's Divas - a new album fronted by the star that brings together some of the most celebrated opera singers in the world - debuts at Number 1 on this week's Official Classical Compilations Chart, keeping at bay classical collections from the likes of Classic FM, Now That’s What I Call Classical, Bruno Tonioli’s An Italian Romance and Songs Of Praise.

Celebrating the record's success, Gok Wan told OfficialCharts.com"It's difficult to express what a wonderful experience curating this album has been – and to be Number 1 in the chart is a dream come true!

The album features 30 classic numbers from opera and musical theatre, including works by Puccini, Bellini and Mozart alongside Bizet, Gershwin and Bernstein along with performances by Maria Callas singing Casta Diva, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa singing Un bel di vedremo and Montserrat Caballé’s O Mio babbino Caro.

The album also features some newer versions of opera classics, such as Katherine Jenkins singing the original French language version of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables and Natasha Marsh with Alfie Boe singing the 'drinking song' from Verdi’s La Traviata.

"Thank you Warners for this chance in a lifetime opportunity," Gok added. "I adore opera and I truly believe it is one of the most beautiful art forms on earth. It's such an honour to be able to share my favourite arias with you all... may the DIVAS live forever in our hearts!"
