[04/12/20] Canadian musician POESY blissfully returned to the airwaves with her latest enticing release - ‘Diamonds’ on the 20th of November. Effortlessly emotive and incredibly powerful, ‘Diamonds’, is now accompanied with a stunningly detailed visual due for release on the 4th of December. Gloriously encompassed in dark, mysterious and alluring melodies, ‘Diamonds’ is the intense, raw, glistening pop-rock anthem we have all been waiting for. Written and recorded in Toronto, the song’s narrative is influenced by POESY’s self-confessed fascination with time and that nothing lasts forever; every moment, be it good or bad, is fleeting, temporary yet utterly beautiful.

The young artist, otherwise known as Sarah Botelho, was discovered after she appeared on the first season of hit Canadian music competition show, THE LAUNCH. Her performance captivated the judges and the hearts of millions across the country. Her incredible breakout performance propelled POESY to new heights yet unseen, landing her a major label deal with Big Machine Records and an opportunity to collaborate with esteemed composer and producer Stephan Moccio, who’s worked with fellow Canadians Celine Dione and Avril Lavigne. The pair joined forces on the final concept of her debut single ‘Soldier of Love’ which was released in 2018.

Met with an incredible reception, her debut single rapidly climbed the ranks of Canada’s music charts and landed ‘Soldier of Love’ in the Billboard Top 40, an incredible feat for a first-ever single, which now has over 1 million streams on Spotify alone. Keen to keep up this momentum, POESY quickly returned to the drawing board to work on her next release; the result was a four-track long EP entitled Glass Box Confessional. This project saw POESY truly prove herself as a legitimate artist and singer-songwriter in her own right, coming forward to establish her own unique sound, look and musical style.

A year later and now POESY is back with her latest offering, the captivating ‘Diamonds’.

“Diamonds is at its core, a song about experiencing a dark time and trying to drag yourself through to the other side. It’s about the pressure you put on yourself that leaves you with dark inner turmoil. I’ve dragged myself out of that countless times so I hope Diamonds can do that for someone else. I called it Diamonds because they’re a substance that is made under huge amounts of pressure, but they’re also so valuable - just like we are. So be gentle with yourself...”
