[26th March 2021] Back with another banger, emerging UK talent EZYBLK returns with the highly anticipated new single, ‘Roll By’, taken from his upcoming, debut EP. Still hot off the press, ‘Roll By’ follows EZYBLK’s debut single, ‘1000 ways’ which premiered last month on GRM Daily and has since amassed well over 12,000 views. Bursting with talent and hungry for success, EZYBLK is poised and ready to make his mark in the buzzing arena that is the current UK rap scene.

As the first single to be taken from his forthcoming EP Ezy Wrld: Trips and Routes, ‘Roll By’ offers an exciting glimpse into what EZYBLK’s has in store for fans and listeners. Inspired by his dual Congolese and British heritage, EZYBLK’s sound is a dynamic mix of flavours spanning from the gritty streets of England to the vibrant cities of Congo.

By fusing the grit and tenacity of UK rap with the rhythmic flavours of Afrobeats/Afroswing into his songs, EZYBLK creates a unique and modern soundscape that reflects both his diverse background and the diverse backgrounds of his ever-growing fanbase. Citing names such as the late Pop Smoke, Travis Scott and British icons like Skepta and J Hus as his musical influences, EZYBLK’s sound offers a little something for everyone, from danceable beats to braggadocious bars, EZYBLK has got you covered.

Speaking on his highly anticipated sophomore single, EZYBLK reveals:

“It’s so crazy because I can’t even fully remember the whole process. Roll By was one of the first songs we made. I had an instant connection with the producers and we just made a vibe. We had a session and decided to make something from scratch. I wanted to incorporate the “Jiggy Jiggy” melodic bit, so we put down some drums and bass and just went from there. Nothing was planned, I didn’t have any lyrics before we started making the beat. So, when we were discussing which song was gonna be my first official single it was only right that it’d be ‘Roll By’. It was the beginning of our journey and the song that really set the standard for our work moving forward.”

Released under Out of Town Entertainment records, ‘Roll By’ is a club-ready summer banger filled with ‘jiggy’ beats, produced by Slxt and Acekeyz, clever punchlines and a catchy, high-energy chorus that you can’t help but bop to. Still a newcomer to the scene, EZYBLK is already showing great promise, and with the music video to ‘Roll By’ set for release on April 2nd, followed by a string of original singles, EZYBLK is on a one-way mission to the top with no plans to stop.

EZY BLK - ARTIST BIO

An authentic homegrown talent with global appeal, 18-year-old Elliott Kalema, who goes by the stage name of EZYBLK is proving himself to be one of the breakthrough artists to look out for in the UK scene.

EZYBLK is a rapper, singer and songwriter from North London, who developed a passion for music from the age of 8. He had just moved with his family to live in Manchester and started a new school. While his teacher, Mr Evans, was giving him a tour around his new school, he suggested that EZYBLK should join their school choir. The following week, EZYBLK was given a world-known song to perform at the school assembly; ‘’I want you back’’ by the Jackson 5, a performance which can still be found on YouTube. It was from that moment he discovered his deep-rooted love for music.

EZYBLK has over the years split his musical taste between his African heritage and his appreciation for his best friend’s music, who is from Colombian heritage.

EZYBLK has been influenced by many genres from different eras and more recently he has been influenced by the likes of J Hus, Skepta, YXNG Bane, Melvitto, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Ghetts. EZYBLK’s music has also been highly influenced by US artists such as Pop Smoke, ASAP Rocky, Travis Scott and Kid Cudi.

In the last quarter of 2020, EZYBLK started a new chapter in his musical career, under the wings of Out of Town Entertainment (OTE), an independent record label. Along with the talented producers AceKeyz and Slxt, EZYBLK has been working extremely hard in the studio and has a lot of great music that is due to be released in the upcoming months. His first official single ‘Roll By’ will kick off a single run leading into the release of his very first (double) EP in the summer. The EP has a variety of different sounds that will appeal to a diversified audience, so keep your eyes and ears on EZYBLK in 2021.
