[19th November 2021] Following a string of buoyant, lively and romance-driven singles, Toronto’s newest Dancehall/Afro-fusion star, Lexxicon prepares to unveil the final chapter of his narrative series, the Tropicon Islands album.

The name of both a fictional Caribbean island and Lexxicon’s third studio album, avid fans will know that Tropicon Islands has been a recurring theme throughout this campaign run. First introduced to listeners in ‘Power Over Me’, this fictitious island paradise has been the setting for the story of two lovers that has been gradually unfolding over the last two single releases; ‘Power Over Me’ and ‘Back to You’ featuring Desiire.

Spurred on by overwhelmingly positive reviews from Pop and Dancehall lovers alike, Lexxicon has kept fans on their toes offering an eclectic array of sounds and textures; from the tropical vibes of his native Jamaica to the dynamic rhythms of Congo and beyond, this is an artist who truly embraces his roots and takes inspiration from his surroundings. Comfortable in a number of genres, Lexxicon is a multi-skilled, multi-genre artist who is sure to get hearts racing and bodies moving with the sounds of his newest album, Tropicon Islands.

11-tracks long, Tropicon Islands is a tasty fusion of culture, concept and quality, delivering everything from epic dance breaks to romantic storylines, eye-catching music videos and irresistible club bangers. Not one to leave listeners wanting, the album release is also accompanied by the ‘Bubble Everywhere’ music video and Lexxicon’s eponymously named, self-authored fiction novel, also named Tropicon Islands, which is cleverly set to the soundtrack of the album.

Speaking on the latest story behind the concept of ‘Bubble Everywhere’, Lexxicon explains:

Born in Jamaica and raised in the UK and US before settling in Toronto, Canada, Lexxicon has been blessed with a rich, varied culture and strong ties to his heritage that have come to greatly influence his sound, aesthetic and musical inspirations. Citing names such as Vybz Kartel, Stefflon Don and Wizkid as some of his favourite artists, it’s no surprise that Lexxicon’s music has found its core fanbase amongst the kids of the diaspora who share his love for the authentic flavours of their home countries as well as the modern sound and styles of the new cities that have adopted them.
