Marking his first solo release since 2019, Toronto based rising Rap star and Hip Hop artist Tremayne is back in action with fiery new single ‘Total Fucking Darkness’. A unique and utterly explosive return, Tremayne is taking no prisoners as he steps into centre stage, claiming the spotlight that he so rightfully deserves.

One of four members of the formidable STAYOUTLATE collective, Tremayne has been recording and releasing music with fellow representatives Scotty IV, Charlie Noiir and YoungWolf, most recently with their 2021 debut album the show stopping and aptly named Fabergé.

Riding on the back of the waves created by this momentous drop, Tremayne now reveals what he’s quietly been working on. Dripping with confidence, artistic prowess and integrity, ‘Total Fucking Darkness’ is punctuated with attitude and layered with Tremayne’s prolific energy that pulsates like heat throughout every single beat.

Dissecting the parameters of style, money and fashion Tremayne dives into the artistry of how we dress, inquisitively exploring the concept of style itself being a representation of the relationship with our physical and emotional beings.

All encompassed in an ingenious mix of alternative and classic Chicago town Hip Hop perfectly blended with new wave Toronto style Trap, Tremayne masterfully paints with influences from the vast myriad of Canada's vibrant music scene.

With social responsibility a stand out feature to his work Tremayne’s aforementioned 2019 single ‘KIDZ BOP 41’ raised funds and awareness for the innocence project which is just one of many campaigns and charities Tremayne and STAYOUTLATE have supported throughout their careers.

Wanting to leave more than just a personal legacy, a key motive for Tremayne is to provide more for his community, in order to create an even bigger space at the table and invite all those around him to eat. Using his art to not only connect with his fans, but also as a direct channel of communication with his fellow humans, he provides opportunities and support for those less fortunate. Leaving his very own, extra special and incredibly inspiring mark on the music industry, Tremayne and STAYOUTLATE are paving the way for generations to come.

“This is my attempt to discuss the difference between fashion and style without coming off as a pretentious prick. I love fashion deeply. I love fashion almost as much as I love music. I can watch runway shows for hours, I can shop for days and if I had a choice folks like Raf Simons, Demna Gvasalia, Chitose Abe, and this kid from Toronto named Aris would be my best friends. Let me say this again, I love fashion. But what is fashion without style?

Money makes anyone fashionable, but it can't make you stylish. style is more than being able to purchase a pair of balenciaga triple s', an off white belt and some Amiri jeans. Style is the exploration of your physical and often emotional self. accentuating the parts you love, being vulnerable with parts you hate. You can give 10 different people a grey sweatsuit and that sweat suit will present completely different on all 10 people.

One of the best examples of what I’m trying to explain is the 2016 FW Vetement runway show. A show that I felt in many ways captured a lot of my feelings in style and fashion. This song in some ways represents if I could go back to that show and be a part of it in any way.” - Tremayne.

About

Tremayne is a Toronto grown alternative hip-hop artist, known for his prolific performances and universally respected for his visceral songwriting. Tremayne began his career under the moniker T-Mayne, a nod to his birth name (Before T-PAIN was a thing). Deciding to keep his real name as his performance name was a subtle nod to the type of honesty Tremayne brings to his music.

Known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, whether on stage, on record, or in real life it has become a calling card for his image. Floating somewhere between the poetic, introspection of classic Chicago hip hop, and the contemporary trap sound waves of New Toronto, Tremayne explores the interpersonal workings of the artist mind, the bleeding heart and the human experience.

Tremayne takes a path rarely taken as an up and coming artist with his efforts to constantly create initiatives that support marginalised groups in their battles against injustice and inequality. Some examples are his yearly food drive with his collective STAYOUTLATE, his 2019 single KIDZ BOP 41 where all profits from streaming are being donated to the innocence project, or his initiative in 2020 to raise money for BIPOC mental health centre Across boundaries, where he was able to raise almost $3000 for the centre through sales of his music on bandcamp. He and his collective Stayoutlate look to leave an imprint on the entertainment industry. Carving their own piece of the pie and sharing it with generations to come.
