Introducing the wondrous world of New York based, singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist Blair West and her sophomore single ‘rabbit holes’. Following on from Blairs delightful debut released earlier this year ‘All This To Say’ has garnered an impressive 50, 000 streams and counting.
Now ready to reveal the next slice of her artistry, she gifts listeners with the soft, gentle and utterly enchanting ‘rabbit holes’.

Featuring layers of quaint, relatable lyrical phrases, ‘rabbit holes’ is a unique, untouched gem of a love song. Dreamy melodies and endless, endearing pop sensibilities are interlaced throughout, as Blairs airy acoustic guitar is all that is needed to detail the delicacies of ‘rabbit holes’.

Playful and lighthearted yet underlined with the beautiful and often complex nature relationships may face. Blairs saccharine vocals encase the listener in a dewy-like tenderness, as if taken by the hand she carefully leads the listener along the twists, turns and subsequent ‘rabbit holes’ of her romantic relationship. Heavenly harmonies are perfectly placed throughout, all delivered by Blairs glorious, golden tone which soothes and calms in an instant.

As we drift into the cooler weather ‘rabbit holes’ makes for the perfect transitional tune for the final days of Summer as we tentatively tread into Autumn. So get cosy, and enjoy ‘rabbit holes’ alongside a warming cup of hot chocolate or as you kick up and crunch the first fallen leaves on your next stroll through the Forest, perhaps hand in hand with someone special.

“This song brings together the most personal pieces of me as an artist. The lyrics, which were some of the first I ever wrote, originally lived in a poem of mine: 'if you leave me, I'm coming to.' It was meant as a cheeky expression of my love for my fiancé -- maybe a little creepy, maybe a little extra, but most definitely romantic. As if "hopelessly devoted to you" was remixed with a bit of sass and enigma.

I wanted to tell a love story that people could relate to, but incorporate the little eccentricities that made mine special, like my love for astrology and my years in Brooklyn.

As far as the sound, the song was originally a more upbeat ballad, but I decided to slow it down so the lyrics could breathe, and that's when it all clicked. I wrote the simple guitar lick you hear throughout and the whole thing came together in just a few minutes. I decided to title it 'rabbit holes,' which is a favourite expression of mine, and I thought it reflected the song perfectly. An Alice in Wonderland-esque fairytale. A love song through the looking glass.” - Blair West x

Often described as a mix between Joni Mitchell, Jewel and Taylor Swift, Blair West’s sound is a glorious concoction of folk-pop with soul and indie influences threaded throughout. With her creativity coming from her tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, New Yorker grit, and Scorpio sensitivity (if you know you know!) she has been writing music since the tender age of five. With a keen knowledge and background in Piano, Guitar, Musical Theatre, she was also the president of her college a-cappella group.

Blair has always felt the underlying urge and ever-present nudge to pursue her music career professionally, yet had to pop her dreams temporarily on the shelf when she moved to NYC. Having since launched a successful career in journalism and marketing—earning her the skills she now puts to good use, she is ready to return to her musicality. After several years of writing songs after long days in the office, Blair soon realised there was no passion stronger than that for her music, and she finally decided to "go for it".

Since that huge leap of faith, Blair has been performing all around the East Coast, perfecting her musical skill and stage presence and has spent hours upon hours writing music, honing in on her unique sound. Her debut Single 'All this to Say' released earlier this year has amassed more than 50,000 streams on Spotify and counting.
