It's not every band who can boast a UK wide tour supporting UK rock heavyweights, Starsailor within their first six months of their formation. And as the old adage goes, start as you mean to go, is exactly the ethos that drives London five-piece The Horn.

Last year, the band also released their debut EP, Do It Now, following a string of successful singles, which won the online admiration of Notion, Atwood Magazine and Louder Than War, as well as support from wider mainstream media ITV, BT Sport and Talksport. Their rise so far has been defined by an unfiltered combination of attitude, ambition and a middle finger to authority, which is exactly what you’ll find in their first song of 2023 - ‘Another Way’.

The idea for this news single came to singer and guitarist Jonny Taylor on the same night that the band filmed the video for 2022 single ‘Passion’. The car that they were filming in broke down in London’s Soho district and so the hedonistic musician took that as his cue to go out for the night; the next day, he was inspired to create a song that he would have liked to hear on the dancefloor. ‘Another Way’ is quite literally designed to get people moving!

On the production side of ‘Another Way’, the whole track is built around a simple drum pattern ideal for dancing to. Laid upon that kinetic rhythm is a tight double tracked falsetto that gradually warps into a full-blown vocal, a persistent guitar, and rattling 90s-esque percussion. The last bit of magic came from studio extraordinaire Danton Supple (Coldplay’s ‘A Rush of Blood to the Head’) who gave it a final mix.

Musically, The Horn’s sound can be defined as Britpop-infused indie-rock that fizzes with energy and angst. Wrapped up in the band’s hedonistic tales of London life, cautionary tales of growing up and the dismissal of being held back by rules, self-doubt or authority figures is a deeper meaning. Here, you’ll find the unique intergenerational exchange between two of the members, Nick and Jonny, who might have been born decades apart, and yet they’ve found endless common ground. It’s no secret that ageism plagues the music industry and it’s essential to The Horn’s creative output to prove that age really is just a number and to always bring the listener back to the timelessness of human experience.

The Horn is made up of bassist and songwriter, Nick True, multi-instrumentalist Danny Monk, singer and guitarist Jonny Taylor, keyboardist Ed Cox and drummer Alex Moorse.
