Liam Payne denies One Direction are clashing over musical differences

Liam Payne has dismissed speculation that all is not well within the One Direction camp with regards to their sound.

Recent reports have suggested that there is a fraction growing within the group, with Harry Styles apparently wanting the band to stray away from pop even more.

Their latest record 'Midnight Memories' exhibited a rockier sound but the singer reportedly wants to go even further in that direction - and if they don't, he might he quit.

However, Liam Payne took to Twitter to pour cold water over the speculation, putting the band's recent inactivity down to "family time".

He said: "Lots of articles saying we are clashing...no ones clashing we are just having a bit of Family time after hitting the road for 3 years."

One Direction released 'Midnight Memories' in November and the quintet are due to tour the world in their first stadium run this coming year.
