One Direction star Liam Payne believes the band's next album is already sounding "pretty good".

The group's last record 'Midnight Memories' was unleashed in November last year, but they are already working on its follow-up.

Label boss Simon Cowell recently confirmed that their fourth effort will hit shelves this year, and speaking to Capital FM, Liam Payne said it is going well.

He said: "We've been writing, all of us have been writing the next album. There's another album coming out soon and it's sounding pretty good."

The singer was speaking at the BRIT Awards in London last night (February 19), where One Direction bagged two awards - British Video and Global Success.

Harry Styles, however, nearly missed collecting one of them - because he was at the toilet. However, he managed to run to the stage mid-speech.
