The lads - minus Harry Styles - posed for the snap whilst the 'Infinity On High' group tour the UK.

It's unclear if the meet-up meant anything more than just the musicians hanging out, or whether any writing was involved.

The One Direction members have been busy working with other artists on new material in recent weeks.

Niall Horan has collaborated with McFly, whilst Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson teamed up with Good Charlotte in the US.

Zayn Malik meanwhile worked with Naughty Boy and Emeli Sandé.
