One Direction's upcoming Where We Are world tour could become the eighth top grossing in history.

The lads are due to head out on their latest headline jaunt from April 25 as they traverse the world's stadiums.

Forbes have reported that with addition of new US dates coupled with high sales, the Where We Are jaunt could become the eighth top grossing tour ever.

That means that it would be placed between The Police’s Reunion Tour and The Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge jaunt in the list of the highest grossing tours of all time.

Madonna is the only act on the top ten list with a tour of less than 100 shows. Forbes say One Direction have 69 concerts scheduled.
