One Direction fans warned about age restriction at Ireland gigs

One Direction fans under the age of 14 could be turned away from the band's upcoming Ireland gigs if they have a standing ticket.

The massive boyband are due to play Dublin's Croke Park stadium on May 23, 24 and 25 as part of their Where We Are world tour.

However, promoters MCD have reminded fans that those aged under 14 are not allowed to have standing tickets - meaning that they might be denied entry if they do so.

Instead, fans of that age should be in the seated section, whilst under 16s generally must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

It follows similar news regarding the band's gig at Sunderland's Stadium of Light, which does not allow under 12s on the pitch.

The first show on the tour meanwhile is set to take place in Colombia on April 25.
