Niall Horan suffers altitude sickness as One Direction tour preparations continue

Niall Horan was left suffering the effects of altitude sickness as One Direction get ready for the first date of their world tour.

The band are currently in Colombia as they prepare for the debut gig of their Where We Are world stadium tour tonight (April 25).

The group are playing in Bogotá, but it is the third-highest capital city in South America at 2,625 metres (8,612 ft) above sea level.

This got the better of Horan, who took to Instagram to say: "First session back with jarvis! Knee feelin ok! Threw up because of the altitude, me and Jarv called it#altitudeoosshhh."

Referring to a recent operation he had on a recurring knee problem, the singer added: "Long road with the knee recovery, its not over yet! Still workin hard!"

One Direction will then tour South America before heading to Europe and then North America.

Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer are due to support in the latter two regions.
